DEPOSITORS FROM MAPUSA URBAN COOPERATIVE BANK DEMANDING THEIR MONEY BACK.

Over a month ago I noticed a write-up in one of the Goan dailies saying  Reserve Bank of India withdrew the banking License of Mapusa Urban Cooperative Bank and further asking the MUCB to stop conducting all banking business.

The news further said that confirming this, the former Bank Chairman  Ramakant Khalap  has said “yes they have withdrawn the Banking License and their (Khalaps) first demand which is still pending with RBI is  to allow the depositors  to withdraw their money”. Further Khalap said  “we have enough funds and if they allow at least Rs one lakh per depositor, then 95% will get back their money.

Now, if Khalap thinks so, then why he is doing nothing to put pressure legally or any otherway on RBI to allow the depositors to withdraw their money?  If Khalap was also suffering the way many of the depositors of MUCB are suffering then Khalap would scream by even bringing demonstrators on the streets of Mapusa to impose pressure on the RBI to come out with solution.   These Khalaps and their subordinates earlier were begging with the people to open accounts and deposit something in MUCB and now they have forgotten their earlier days.

Then said Khalap, there are  1,11,000 depositors and  the Bank has Rs  353 crores as deposit plus an asset of worth around Rs 150 crores and all  the  depositors are insured to the tune  of Rs 5 lakh each. Hence, why the depositors are put into inconvenience when they have their money legally deposited?  Due to the current  situation of Corona Virus Lockdown, the money power into the hands of people including many  depositors of MUCB become less requiring urgent withdrawal of their deposits from the MUCB.  It is the  responsibility of Khalap and others like him to put in their maximum efforts to solve this problem and to return the depositors money back to them.

Again now, if Mr. Khalap your bank has in its kitty so many crores then what stops it from disbursing? Why the Bank cannot start returning the depositors money back to them especially now when the same money is requird more and for more better utility? Why RBI is ignoring the requests of MUCB to disburse the amount to the depositors?  Was the infringement committed by this bank  warrant such a Severe reprimanding  and what was it?  Can't the depositors know what it is?  I think it is the obligation of the Bank to divulge the fact and figures of the mistake that MUCB has committed and for which the Bank has been punished by RBI.  However harsh the punishment  of RBI may be but its responsibility cannot be passed on to the depositors who are In no way guilty of the disastrous mistake  the Board must have committed.  The Board was paid handsomely I feel and yet they ate like  Ladru and Pedru?  They should be punished sternly if they are mistaken but because of their mistake innocent depositors should never be castigated. Is Reserve Bank of India gone insane to know the problems the depositors are facing?  Is it its pleasure to see the depositors of MUCB suffer?   If RBI had to be more  vigilant in the beginning only, they could arrest the fallacious act they committed  in which case the situation  would not have come to this grave degree for which the poor depositors are suffering when they are fully innocent.

All the earlier stalwarts of this Bank who constituted the Board of directors must as responsible people own this responsibility because it is they who frame the policy of their bank to manage it smoothly,  depositors are not responsible for the mistakes done by the top management for which the RBI castigated the MUCB.  The depositors are asking nothing but only their deposits and how to give them back their deposits is the responsibility of the management of MUCB.
When they wanted depositors the Bank officers and others were coming on their knees for begging  to open an account  with their Bank but now they don’t even care for us, said one depositor.

The curse of NEPOTISM raised its head very ferociously recently as seen in the death of Hindi Bollywood  glittering star Sushant Singh Rajput thru Suicide he committed in Bombay in his posh apartment on 14th of this month. Those who harassed him to provoke him to commit suicide as per the complaint filed in the court by Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha were the most prominent Bollywood stars namely Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.  Besides as co-accused some more also are named such as filmmakers.

According to the information Sushant Singh Rajput  was the victim of Nepotism which was carried forward by his jealous towards him colleagues in the film industry. They were so disgraceful as per the news coming that they were campaigning against him to pull  him down deliberately  from the higher rungs of the Ladder of glory and fame, to defame him and mock at him.  All his excellent work from the Screen is looked down with disdain.  They are like gangsters ganging up against one man the late Rajput unnecessarily speaking ill of him.  Seeing this negative campaign and false propaganda against him, he was shocked and being unable to bear the systematic campaign carried out against him with meticulous precision, he finally took such a drastic  step that he committed a suicide which was not necessary and as such it was a wrong decision on his part as a mighty celebrity.  Committing of suicide is the task of a weak person and as such during the time of crisis we should be bold enough to face any calamity of any type.  Life is not a joke and as such we must be ready to face it stoically not as cowards by going for suicide. The perpetrators of the false propaganda and the negative campaign against Rajput were the supposed to  be well known and well popular Bollywood Filmstars.

Was this nepotism confined only to the Hindi Film industry and is it not taken a foothold in our Tiatro Industry?  In fact, the worst Nepotism is taking place in our Tiuatro industry and it is not a recent development but it was existing almost from the time of inception of our Tiatro. The most jealous members of our society are some of the Tiatrists who got the crab mentality of one Tiatrist pulling down the other.  Normally one Tiatrist does not speak good of the other Tiatrist.  Most of the Tiatrists are jealous of one another, one popular Tiatrist is trying to destroy the other Tiatrist especially the upcoming one.  Some of the worst destructive Tiatrists are those who have already attained the peak of their career and from that top  position they are not ready to come down and if they get some compettion   and clash from others in the same trade then the top Tiatrits start pulling down the upcoming Tiatrists who are the hurdles  to those oldies enjoying heavy demand from the audience.  See one example of one great Tiatrist the late “Mr. X” who was even an awardee of two National Awards, because because of the competitiveness to him of one lady artiste who was performing her role much better than  Mr. X,  since the popularity  rating  started going to the second spot, Mr. X as a pure Nepotist and wielding vast influence in Tiatro industry being on No. 1 spot,  opposed that lady’s role of singing and stopped that poor innocent lady Tiatrist from acting in Tiatro any further  by following the condition put by Mr. Mr. X Tiatrist to all  the directors saying “IF SHE IS THERE IN YOUR TIATRO THEN I AM NOT THERE”. By using this condition Mr. X  destroyed one very prominent lady Tiatrist because by using his philosophy of,  if I don’t end her career now only then she will end  my career”, “it looks like survival of he fittest” theory.

Let me go back to Kuwait.  Rosary Ferns was one young but most seasoned Tiatrist from Colva. He was easily the best Tiatrist, best script writer, best songs composer, best Mandoist as composer, singer of Mandos and Dulpods, writer and promoter Operettas and expert one act play writers.  His best speciality lies in composing and introducing in his Tiatros most beautiful Cantos of which type not a single Tiatrist is composing.  I can eaeily equate him with the greatest Canto composers in the history of our Tiatros namely first was Minguel Rod, second place comes M. Boyer, third place comes Aristedes Dias and on the fouth place comes Rosary Ferns.  But from his recent Tiatros I saw,Pal Soares is following  Rosary Ferns. Some of the Cantos of Minguel Rod were of such a high quality that one couyld see nothing among the audience but crying and sobbing.  Some of the yesteryear Tiatrologists and top solfists and Musicians equated some of the  sorrowful Cantos of Minguel Rod to the Latin Motets we used to sing in our Churches during the Lent Season.  Such was the  fabulous qualities of great Rosary Ferns who worked in Kuwait for a good number of years and showed his Tiatrical talent in Kuwait. Besides, he had unique distinction of releasing the First Konkani CD which was released thru the hands of one renowned Konkani mogui and Konkani supporter in Kuwait Raymond D’Sa AT Kuwit Plaza  Hotel, Kuwait.

Because of his talents the “Kulleo type” of Tiatrists  with Nepotism of the type Bollywood  faced, Rosary too  got  even to the extent not only of boycotting him from Tiatrists circle but imposing a total ban on his activities on Konkani Stage in Kuwait.  Not only that they prepared the groundwork to boycott Rosary Ferns even from joining the Kuwait Tiatristanchi Sonstha out of pure jealousy by all the third class Tiatrist based in Kuwait and some of them were developed as Tiatrists by Rosary ferns. The mastermind of this disgraceful act was none other than the most coprrupt, the most fazil, the most “pochpochit” Tiatrist  the Super Star of Konkani Stae based in Kuwait. But why not a single Tiatrist  from that circle opposed this move of boycotting Rosary Ferns?  All those members of the Kuwait Tiatristanchi Sonvstha who were simply nodding their  heads for the Super Star were not meant to fight for justice.

Because of this type of nepotism many other innocent Tiatrists and even contractors suffered even to the extent of their means to earn them their livelihood.  This is not correct, this type of nepotism should not be repeated, those who performed this type of nepotism they suffered enough.  Good that those who suffered did not commit suicide like the Rajput from Bollywood.  Let Konkani Stage not suffer such a tragedy as Bollywood suffered.  God alone can save our Tiatrists.

GOAN SOCCER TEAM IN ISL TOURNAMENT.

It is given to understand that the FC Goa this season in their participation in the Indian Super League soccer tourney will be without some of the earlier best players not  only best in Goan team but also the best in the whole tournament and hence much of the shine of this tournament in the coming edition will be evaporated.  For all those artistic players to  reach to this currently astronomical height it took them long time especially to acquire the much required combination with their colleagues on the field. After attaining such a high level, FC Goa management to lose them in a very casual manner like, is like  a joke, such stars after they acquiring such a glittering stardom on the field mesmerizing not only the spectators and viewers but also their opponents and now to part with their company  is not the wise decision. It looks that those who are managing the affairs of FC Goa in the name of Goa and Goans inspite of they being “bhaile” in Goa whose “pallam ani mullam” are deeply rooted in the land of Non Goans, probably by sitting in the A/C Cabin in the Casino floating in the water of Mandovi River from where the Portuguez Commander Afonso de Albuquerque, about 600 years back chalked out his plan to conquer Goa, as per the request of one Topmost Hindu Officer and a Confidante of the                                                                                                                                                                                    Muslim Leader Adilshah, will fail not only them but more importantly they will fail Goans and the name of football crazy GOA.  Nobody from outside Goa need to indicate  Goans that Goans are less in the art and science of administration of Goan soccer especially those who are totally ignorant of the culture, tradition and history of Goa.  The mighty Portuguez during their long stay in Goa recognized this fact and precisely because of this they surrendered their rights of  governing the affairs of Goa Football Association into the hands of the genuine and a true Goan,  Dr. Gustavo Monteiro as president of GFA. It was because of Dr. Monteiro, Dr. Remigio Pinto and other such great Goan soccer asministrators who selflessly only for the pure love of soccer gave their dedicated service to this job that Goan soccer reached to such  a high pedestal inspite of Goa being  a tiny State of India. As a matter of appreciation Dr. Gustav Monteiro was invited to Portugal in the late sixties where he was profusely showered with honours by the top Portuguese personnel in Lisboa for running the affairs of Goan soccer so beautifuly.

Knowing his genius all those Panpotti Ghanttis who were dominating in Goa, should have given the top post in the administration of All India Football Federation to Dr. Monteiro knowing his calibre in this field but Dr. Monteiro would accept that post or no it was a different matter.  It should be borne in mind that Dr. Gustavo Monteiro due to his sheer brilliance and efficiency, was inducted into the Legislative Assembly of Goa-Damao-Diu as an MLA.  During those good old days like what we have Legislative Assembly now, there was then also such an Assembly but with a diference of this:  The Portuguese time Assembly consisted of 12 nominated members (MLA’s) while currently we have an Assembly of 40 members (MLA’s) who are elected.  The Portuguese time MLA’s were nominated on the basis of their high caste and high social status for this reason they were all coming from the feudal type of people.  Since they were nominated on the recommendation of the Governor of Portugal in Goa, all of them were acting like the Slaves and Chamchas of Portugal and Portuguese Governador of Goa.  For this reason all those bloody idiot MLA’s never brought a resolution in the Assembly to demand or to request or to plead for the independence of Goa. Many of those MLA’s after the conquest of Goa by India were talking ill of the Bharati rule but not a single stupid MLA of that time raised the issue of Goa’s freedom with the Goa Governador.  These were the people who were real culprits who failed Goa and Goans.  They were real Slaves admiring dictatorship, they never thought that Bharat serkar under Nehru would act so cunning and so chicaner even to the extent of getting reprimanded by the World when Nehru’s Bharat serkar under the Congress Party sent a powerful Military Batallion  in a show of Violence and Not in a show of Non-Violence against India’s principle and as so well used by the father of the nation Mahatmah Gandhi.  When by using violence India annexed Goa, in a show of solidarity with Portugal over liquidation process of Goa by the mighty Bahrat, majority of the members in the UNO passed a resolution telling India to “Get Out” from Goa immediately by withdrawing its troop from the sacred land of Goa but it was Soviet Russia’s Veto that allowed India to capture Goa. Then immediately President Kennedy of USA insulted Nehru in such a way that Nehru was shocked, said Kennedy: “ You are not a trustworthy, you claim to be the champion of Non - Violence by preaching the doctrine of Non-Violence to the World but when your turn comes you cunningly go against your own doctrine of course shamelessly.  It looks to me that your action on Goa is like that of the most holy Pastor who was caught when he was coming out of the Brothel while putting the buttons of his Pant”.  Such an insult was never received in his life time by Nehru when otherwise he was considered a great lover and promoter of Peace in the World thru the practice of Non Violence.

Coming back to the Goan soccer, those older Goan football fans who have seen two mighty footballers of Goa namely Visitacao Lobo and Albino Fernandes donning the colours of the then mighty Sesa Goa along with whom I too played my professional soccer for a short period for Sesa Goa about 50 years back but for some valid reasons both Albino and Visitacao left Sesa Goa and joined Slagaocar, another mighty outfit of Goa, of that era.  When due to their absence  Sesa Goa’s attack found wanting in creating the required dent into their opponents citadel, one of the top management personnel (a German) of Sesa Goa Company, called a meeting with his other personnel involved  in running the affairs of their soccer team and finally that German guy who otherwise was an expert in the field of soccer in Germany, made a remark saying, “It is our mistake first of all to allow both the ace footballers Albino and Visitacao to leave Sesa Goa. We should have listened to their grievances first, sort out our differences amicably and as far as possible we should have made them happy by agreeing to fulfill some of their demands because we should not lose them. After such players their team managements spend so much to help them to attain their peak and to leave them then after is like committing  a suicide.  Hence, call them back, listened to their grievances and rectify”. Then both of them rejoined Sesa Goa.

The players of FC Goa namely Mandar, Fall and Boumous not ordinary footballers but they were the Jewels in the team of FC Goa and as such they are not easy to replace. Rock like defender Fall is very reliable on the ground as well as in the aerial duels going higher and higher for heading like an Olympian high jumper while Boumous a midfield maestro knows how to maneuver his ways by dodging even 3 opponents and our home grown Mandar is ripened so well that he is capable to play in any position very satisfactorily. His ball control and running were very good. If these three and some more who are leaving and joining other teams, FC Goa will be very much weakened. For these FC Goa giants there are no equivalent in India, replacements may be but equivalents are impossible.  In their absence the interest in FC Goa will be diminished and in all likelihood the image of Goan soccer will go down. It may be the intention of FC GOA team management but deffinetely not of any genuine Goan.
