Dear Mr. fernandes,
The priest does not fall from heaven. He is like you and me. We never ask the question as to why there are scandolous christian laity who occupy the front rows in the church organisations.
We need to question the state of our Goan society and its values and families. If our familires are OK we will get OK leaders in public life.

WHAT AILS OUR CHURCH & CATHOLICS? - I.

With my head down in shame as a Catholic Christian, I write this piece. By tradition Goan Catholics are judicious, upright and properly disciplined giving top priority for the maintenance of high morality. What is happening now in Goa with regards to the suicide case of young married female Nadia Torrado and the alleged involvement in this case of former Tourism Minister Mickey Pacheco is a matter of shame. Mickey Pacheco is a Catholic, Nadia Torrado is Catholic, her mother who as given to understand was close to Mickey Pacheco is Catholic and Lyndon Monteiro, Mickey's Officer on special duty also implicated in this dastardly case is also a Catholic. Besides innumerable persons supporting Mickey in this case are also Catholics. So my question now is what sort of Catholicism we practice by playing dirty all around and by leading an immoral and criminal life? Is our Catholicism permit us to commit suicide? Is our Catholicism permit us to physically assault a female till she is forced to terminate her life by committing a suicide? Is our Catholicism permit us to support disgraceful and criminal politicians and Ministers? What sort of Christianity we practice? What role our Church is playing to minimise and to eradicate such criminal acts? What doctrine our Church teaches us in the Church? Or our Church leaders and clergy also involved in promoting crimes and immorality among Catholics? It looks they are, for this reason all are silent now, no saner voice is heard from any of the clergy members leave aside Bishop from Panjim Altinho who it looks is busy in something else which is of his personal importance.

Mickey Pacheco's candidature for the Goa Legislative Assembly from Benaulim constituency was supported by almost all the Christians mainly Catholics. Are they not ashamed to elect such a bad person? They should put their heads down in shame and take an oath never to elect again not only Mickey Pacheco but also others of Mickey type. Benaulim constituency in the past has played a very pivotal role in electing people of good morality. Benaulim constuents in the past during the Opinion Poll have played a very productive role in voting judiciously and thus save Goa from the clutches of Maharastra and Marathi. But now by electing Mickey Pacheco Benaulim constituents have committed a big sin by imposing on whole of Goa a person whose moral character is very sinful. The crimes Mickey Pacheco committed as a politician and as a Minister by using his political and ill gotten financial clout on innocent Goans will be answerable to supernatural power. All those who supported Mickey will have to pay the price for the sin of electing and supporting Mickey Pacheco, they all will face the curse and wrath from God, this curse will come on generations to generations because of the ill deeds of Mickey Pacheco. The innocent blood of innocent female will speak and speak openly and loudly, not later but very soon. This is the secret and victory of natural law.

And what about the role of Priests from Benaulim constituency? According to my information if not all then at least more of them have supported Mickey Pacheco inspite of knowing Mickey Pacheco is a corrupt man. Is it right on the part of the priests to support such a corrupt person? Where is the Christian character of Priests gone? Can such priests practice Catholicsm in particular and Christianity in general as propounded by the Christ? Only morally corrupt priests can support corrupt people and that there are plenty of such corrupt priests in Benaulim constituency was proved by the support Mickey Pacheco got from these corrupt priests, Calvert Gonsalves in his CD 'Dogui Bodmas' clearly indicates the character of corrupt priest who supported corrupt politician. Politicians rob poor citizens thru different corrupt methods and give donations to the rich Churches manned by the corrupt priests and these corrupt priests push the ignorant faithfuls to elect corrupt politicians. For this reason our Catholic Church is remained as corrupt headed by the corrupt leader seated at Panaji Altinho and living the life of a Maharaja. What good will come from such a corrupt Church? Because of this reason our Goa Church is not enjoying good reputation and will never enjoy because most of our priests are championing the cause of corrupt, robber, rapist and criminal politicians.

See the character of most of our Catholic MLA's and Ministers in Goa. It is nothing but filth. They are acting as "Dadas", many of them have snatched wives from the hands of their devoted husbands and made them as their concubines. Many of the Portuguez top "Pakles" used to do the same for Goan wives during colonial rule with the backing of their official power. These Pakles were responsible for breaking the marriages of many of our Goans while our Church leaders remained silent. Most of our ills in Goa happened because our Church leaders and priests remained as silent spectators when they should raise their voice. What Portuguez Pakles did during those Portuguese days in Goa are now being done by the rascal Goan politicians especially MLA's and Ministers. Mickey Pacheco's case is one such open example. If Mickey Pacheco was not guilty he would never resign from his Cabinet post. Resigning from Ministership is like giving up one's soul. Who can do this easily unless one is really guilty? Narvenkar once did similarly during his scandal with Sunita.

TO BE CONCLUDED.

Boycott Our Politicians And The Functions They Attend

Boycott Our Politicians And The Functions They Attend

I have a great regard for our Tiatrist fraternity, it is they, along with our renowned writers, poets and our Goan Priests that have kept our Konkanni alive and kicking. It's was they who set off the spark during the Konkanni movement. The perception of our Tiatrist has changed with time and conditions, not taking away anything from our artists of yore, the present brand have become more outspoken. It's a revolution. Though, I must say that we still long for and enjoy the meaningful songs, the melody and the rhyming of our Artists of old, even today.

I do salute Agnelo for his thoughtful call and his sense of reason behind this call. All over Goa people are frustrated with the way our corrupt politicians have been victimising Goa and Goans, not one of the forty has been supporting the cause of Goa and Goans, buried under their own preplanned personal agendas and ideologies which have been detrimental to Goa and Goans. It is a very precarious situation that we Goans have been put into by our very own elected corrupt and unethical politicians.

The chief guest or guest of honour should be a man or a woman of honour, a man of good repute, a role model for people gathered to look upto and take his or her example and try to emulate them. In Goa today it's become a fashion to invite our politicians even for Church functions, which is totally contrary to the very beliefs of the Church. It's true The Church tells us not to condemn sinners but at the same time they should not be eulogized either. It's been told that Churchill will be the Chief Guest for the Tiatr in Dubai next weekend, is he coming with his wife or a ------? Our Goan politicians have been treating Dubai as a service centre for oil change for some time now.

We have to show our disapproval to the polity in Goa and this is indeed a good way to do it, we should boycott each and every function organized by politicians or where politicians have been invited as Chief Guests or Guest of Honour. I have watched a lot of Tiatrs in Dubai but I will abstain myself from this Tiatr as my protest in solidarity to my fellow Goan brethren.

Our Tiatrist brothers and sisters, have been criticising our politicians left right and centre, it is good to see their courage and commitment to the cause, but I request our producers and directors, when the Tiatrs are booked make sure to tell the guys that they will not perform if any politician is the Chief Guest, it will, certainly be a move in the right direction to show our disgust for our pathetic politicians.

I do not understand why we need a politician to preside over a Tiatr, here in Dubai and that too, the one who said we Goans squeal like pigs, while he planned to provide our youth, an opportunity of a life time of becoming "watchmen". It is indeed time to show the PWD Minister that we Goans mean business and that we don't take kindly to the likes of him, who have taken Goa and Goans for a jolly good ride.

In my earlier days in the Gulf I use to admire the unity and the efforts of our Kuwaiti Goans towards Goa's causes, they had strongly supported the Konkanni movement, among all the Goans in the Gulf, the Kuwaiti Goans were the ones who projected Goa in the Gulf with our culture and our mother tongue. Of late I have been very disappointed with them because even after witnessing the woes in Goa created by our corrupt politicians they still seem to have adulation for these monsters of corruption and depravity and are facilitating them at the drop of the hat, sometime back both Mickky and Churchill were given the honours and I have just heard that there is a football tournament in the name of the other Almeao, who is running illegal mining in Goa. I plead to you my dear UAE and Kuwaiti Goans, please stop this sacrilege towards Goa and Goans, boycott our present politicians, we should be out for their blood and not to facilitate them, they are the cause of all our misfortunes in Goa.

UAE Goans please for the love of Goa show our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Goa – Boycott this Tiatr if Churchill is invited as Chief Guest.

WHAT AILS OUR CHURCH & CATHOLICS? - ll

Why go so far to describe corruption in the Church when below my nose it also smells dirt and rowdism created by the people involved in the Church activities? Normally laypersons involved in the Church activities are those suffering from many ills such as physical, financial, spiritual, moral and also those suffering from traditional and ancestral inferiority complex. Church circle is a very good opportunity for such people to gain easy and cheap prominence. Usually, the cheap laypersons craving for cheap publicity, cheap acceptance in cheap society and also craving for material gains including sexual gains involve in Church activities, many of them otherwise rejected by the organised and elite society. Recently, one more class of people involved in the Church activities is the class of ‘goondas’ and rowdies. According to one source somebody from this category wants to hit on my head with his shoe, a group of Catholics wants to barge in my House to teach me a good lesson and one female wants to catch hold of my neck. All these threatening statements as informed are expressed in the presence of the Capuchin who looks like a born rowdy. It is a big insult to St. Anton the patron saint of Capuchin to have followers in such rowdies. By keeping rowdies close to Capuchin is like kicking St. Anton who preached love in true spirit of Christianity.

What sort of doctrine the Capuchin and the Bishop and other priests are teaching to the faithfuls especially to those laypersons involved in the Church activities? To assault me? To act as rowdies and terrorists? Is this the Christian Church we are associated with? One of the persons who wants to hit me is involved in promoting ‘Samudai’. What sort of Samudai he is promoting? His colleagues in Samudai should better know the real rowdy and anti-Christian character of this person. He is also entrusted with the task by the Church of distributing Holy Communion. Does such a rowdy ruffian deserve this when his actions are that of Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde? Are these people really Christians or are they Jews who are meant to harass our Arab brothers? How the Church leadership accept such ROWDIES to perform Church rites? By the way, the Church authorities must know that they are not the Church alone, lay faithfuls are also a part of the Church and as such their opinion must be given priority otherwise Catholic Churches will remain empty of faithfuls many of whom migrating to other denominations as it is already happening now because of the arrogance, pride and rowdism of the priests like that of the Capuchin.

Since this matter is of serious nature where threats of physical assaults are expressed, I have decided now to inform my colleagues in GOA-KUWAIT SOLIDARITY CENTER about the threats issued to me in the presence of the Catholic priest who is supposed to be good and not a ruffian. To all my friends and colleagues spread all around the globe I advise that in case there is any attack on me, the priest in question should be first questioned and along with him all his ruffian friends who are trying to act like terrorist Saddam Hussein.

If these Catholic rowdies are so angry then why they didn’t join us in our movement under Goa – Kuwait Solidarity Centre to challenge Saddam Hussein during the invasion time of Kuwait? During the invasion of Kuwait these Church associated rowdies were hiding at their homes under the petticoats of their wives and concubines and also mothers. By boycotting our movement in support of Kuwait they have boycotted Kuwait from where these traitors shamelessly earn their sustenance. It is Kuwait’s Dinars that made them what they are today otherwise back home in their countries they are unknown entities. When they are ungrateful to Kuwait the country that feed them, how else they can be grateful to God? This is the quality of many of the people involved in the Church activities. In fact overwhelming majority of the people involved in Church activities have opposed me for supporting Kuwait. Moreover, none of the Capuchins nor any priests from Goa openly supported our movement against Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, on the contrary some of them mocked at me for promoting the cause of Kuwait. Priests and overwhelming majority of Church associated people refused to support us in our movement for the cause of Kuwait.

CONCLUDED.
