TIATRO "ATM" BY MILAGRES DE CHANDOR.

With the induction of 14 artistes, as per my information, the well-known writer and director Milagres de Chandor staged his well spoken by the audience Tiatro “ATM” at Kala Academy on last Sunday 31.07.16.  The Tiatro supposed to start at 7.45 PM instead it started late at 8.10 PM thus putting the audience into unnecessary inconvenience though the director apologized to the audience but it was of no use.  The delay in arriving the artistes is not the look out of the audience, it is the business of the director to be prompt on his timing thus avoiding detaining the audience in the hall with no fault of theirs.  It was not a F.O.C. Tiatro.

The best part of this Tiatro was the monologue type of address by the director to the young audience thru which he advised them not to commit wrong acts for matters which can be controlled.  It was a beautiful and educative advice of which type our priests and clergy should impart from the Altar and if they had to do this many of evil deeds like Suicides, committed by our youth out of frustration would have been avoided.  Kudos to Milagres de Chandor.

The story of the play was according to my information is based on genuine incident happened in Salcette Goa.  Antonette de Maina played her role very well thus stealing the Show.  Willy and Pascoal Rodrigues also played their roles well while others left no stone unturned to make this Tiatro attractive and interesting.

Commedy part was no doubt good but some vulgarity in words and in action was not palatable.

The Side Show songs were  not up to the mark with the exception of a few songs one of them was a solo by Pascoal Rodrigues and the other a solo of Antonette de Maina.

TIATRO "AMONTRONN"

On 31^st of last month, at Mapusa, starting at 10.40 AM, I saw the Tiatro “AMONTRONN” written and directed by the well-known Tiatrist Rosario de Benaulim.  It was well attended by the crowd who came in a big number to see this Tiatro.    It is a known fact that this Tiatro is worth seeing as its story is well written and well enacted by all the artistes especially by Tari, Roma and Roseferns.  The role played by the director Rosario de Benaulim was superb.  As usual, one of the beauteous spots of Konkani Stage, Antonette de Maina brought elegance  to her role.  The story looks like based on Biblical Prodigal Son.

The comedy part was handled by the four comedians, namely Sally, Selvy, Richard and Dorothy who is really a great asset to Konkani Stage.

Among the Side Show songs, the solos rendered by the director Rosario de Benaulim, Xavier Gomes, Marcus Vas, Benny de Aldona, duet by Cajy & Roma, Trios  by Xavier-Cajy-Marcus and Antonetter de Maina-Dorothy-Roma deserve special mention.

SHAME OF GOA.

This is Azad Maidan, Panjim where you can notice nothing but the shame of Goa where the Goa government is totally blind and deaf to the grievances of our Mothers and Sisters who are on Hunger Strike since last 39 days. Their pleas and cries are gone unoticed because Sports Minister true to his own revengeful self has refused to show any sympathy and compassion to them.  These women from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs are denied of the human rights of employment from the DSYA and in their places as per my information are engaged  new ones.  Hence, they are on Hunger Strike since last so many days. 

Four of them are on “Fast Unto Death”, very often they fall sick there needing urgent medical treatment, one or two of them were taken to Hospital where they were admitted even to the Intensive Care Unit.  Even their small children are falling sick due to the shocking state of their mothers. Do the concerned Minister and those running the government machinery have mothers, wives and sisters?  How they would feel seeing them fasting sleeping on the floor at Azad Maidan?

Why the Goa government and  the concerned department closing their eyes to the pleas of these striking women?  Why the MLA’s now shouting, howling, fighting and even some of  them barking like dogs in the Assembly cannot see their plight and raise this issue in the Assembly with the concerned Minister to get the clear reply from him? Why the local media not raising this issue forcefully? And where are our Tiatrists?  Why they cannot raise this issue from the Stage?  Are they not obligated to fight for justice for the weak ?
