In Tiatro circle Tomazinho Cardoso is a name and fame since a long time now.  As a young school going boy he created a good image of his as a Tiatrist by composing and singing songs and later on staging his own Tiatros in aid of Club,  School and other such charitable causes. In Tiatro competition contests he won first prizes many times and thus created a name for him which is like a Rock, unbreakable till now as witnessed by the huge attendance attending to see his Tiatro “Yes Sir” on 1^st of this month at 7.00 pm, at Kala Academy Panjim. It was for the on-going 44^th Tiatro “A” Group Competition 2018 – 19

As everyone knows Tomazinho’s taste for politics himself being a politician, this Tiatro was also surrounded on the unprincipled politics  in which almost all our politicians are indulging in,  “I am in politics for my own selfish benefit.  Precisely because of this I bow my head down for my survival as elected representative with the TWO UNPRINCIPLED SLAVISH WORDS ‘YES SIR’ ”.

The role of the most principled elected representative in the midst of corrupt ones, was played extremely well by Sivananda NaiK who was developed as a child artiste from the cradle of Kala Mogi – Candolim, under the leadership of Tomazinho Cardoso, playing different roles such as comedian then of female and now reaching to the main serious role.

Having developed in the cradle of Tomazinho Cardoso, he feels obligated to his master for this reason he is remained attached to this group for such a long period, to be precise 26 years starting at the age of 9, even though he receives lot of offers from other groups to join them. For all these offers, his only answer is this: I will end where I started” just as Pele declared when Real Madrid and Barcelona asked his price to buy him outright when his Santos Club refused to release Pele when Pele himself declared saying “I will end my career with Santos from where I started”.  Rarely such persons one will find on this planet having such an extremely high gratitude and Shivananda Naik is one of them, a gem of a young man.

The others who played their roles well were Irene Cardoso with accurate perfection, even her dress code was appropriate.  In  this connection, some of our professional females have to learn from Irene Cardoso because even in the ordinary house as ordinary female they decorate themselves with expensive high heel shoes, expensive sarees, gold ornaments around their necks and bangles for hands from wrist to elbow.

The role of the main comedian played by Christopher was good but he is yet to be accepted by the audience as a comedian though his performance was good with the exception of doing his comedy at the wrong time when the seriousness in going on in the play.  He was ably  assisted in performing comedy role by Joaquim Lopes. Dulcina played her role well but her acting when she was attacked by the two Loafers who wanted to rape her, was superb displaying lot of genuineness. Assis Cardoso did his part well as an educationist encouraging his son to jump into politics and contest the election, just like many of our rascal politician fathers do in Goa.  Tukaram too did his role well.

In the Side Show songs, there was not a single song which was “Pezad” and neither there was a single singer who is known to be “Pezad”.  However, even then the performance in the  Side-Show was good where the following artistes excelled in rendering good songs, namely:

Solo by Violet D’Souza. It was just a thrill to watch this young girl singing so well with the body movement.  She got an attractive voice and her dress code was appropriate.

GOD'S PUNISHMENT FOR BJP MEN.

The news of Parricar’s resignation finally turned out to be a big joke like Parrikar himself who is considered as a big joker. Believing in God’s justice I am sure the Devine punishment is imminent when Parricar will be taught the Biblical principle of “sword beget sword”. His other two cabinet colleagues Francis D’Souza and Madkaicar were already taught  their lesson and because of this Francis D’Souza was deeply hurt. He was so much hurt that he lamented saying that stripping him of his portfolio was the reward for him for being sincerely faithful to BJP. 

Mr. Francis D’Souza I pity you because you have lowered the very good and dignified image of your father by using the language of the defeated beggar.  Your father who was so popular in Mapusa during those days will never speak in a defeated tone like defeated man and neither would join BJP knowing it is a party of anti-Christians and anti-minorities. By calling yourself as Hindu Christian you have not only disgraced yourself but you have also disgraced our Christianity.  Good that BJP has disgraced you by only kicking you out of the cabinet and not gone beyond. And Francis D’souza by lowering yourself to such a low and undignified level to please your Party Bosses    you expected greater reward for you but it did not fetch you the expected dividends. In the bargain you must have acquired lot of wealth but poor thing you  cannot get the peace to enjoy this wealth. Such wealth is nothing but a curse.

Mr. Francis and Mr. Madkaikar, what you faced from BJP was only a Trailer and not the full movie.  Wishnu Wagh is now converted into a fearful “Undir” while earlier he was like a Tiger from the deep jungle. You all BJP men and women who were acting like big ‘Dadas” will have to live like cockroaches and that time is approaching very fast.  Madcaicar who jaunted in Mumbai to spend the easily accumulated money by looting the people, feared no wrath of God because he had arrogant ambition to challenge the power of God that he wanted to build another Tower of Babel not in ancient Mesopotamia but in Old Goa closer to the Religious Monuments.  

Ignorant is he because he forgot the fact that those who failed to build the original Tower of Babel were the people who wanted to challenge God and since there is no power on this planet to challenge God’s power, the imminent result is defeat for the challenger.

Generally speaking what has happened to BJP in Goa now under Parricar was the punishment of God for robbing the Congress of  its clear victory. It was like Hitlerian “dadagiri”. The way the government is functioning in Goa it looks BJP is owning Goa. Parricar has created a hoax that without him nothing will move in Goa.  Heaven will not falle if he is no more.  Neither his party at the Centre and in Goa will feel anything.

TIATRO "CITIZEN" BY MORJIM GROUP.

These days at Kala Academy Hall, Panjim, Tiatro competition is going on where from the huge attendance seen almost for every Tiatro which gives something or more than something very interesting for the attendees to carry home.  From what I have seen so far, I found most of the Tiatros in this competition are of much – much higher standard in all respects than the overwhelming number of our commercial Tiatros staged by the professional Tiatrists many of whom are still raw in this art especially the third grade vulgar comedians who are a disgrace not only on our Tiatros but more than that on our language Konkani and Goa which we are many times boasting as Saibachem Goem. If our Goem is really Saibachm Goem then we would not commit sinful act by displaying vulgarity in our performances.

The greatest sickness of the commercial Tiatros is the Cancer of Vulgarity displayed in words and deeds too by a few of the Bastardised comedians who are all out to finish this great art of Tiatro from the Stage.  I saw so many times some of the regular goers for Tiatros many times when vulgarity raises its head on the stage then they, especially the decent families get up from their chairs and just walk out of the hall and never to return again.  The effect of this brutality is such that many regular Tiatro goers told me that because of the vulgarity introduced in our Tiatros surprisingly even by the supposed to be dignified directors, have put a full stop to see Tiatros.

But in this competition you don’t find such vulgarity thank God for this.  Since there was not a single vulgar comedian nor any vulgarity promoter director, the competition Tiatro are going strong day by day.

Among the Tiatros in this competition so far I saw, the Tiatro “CITIZEN” staged by "Machi Mogi  Morjim Cultural Sanscrutic Saunstha, Morjim", I found better than other Tiatros in all respects, such as script, acting, Music, Side Show Songs and   direction. The Morjimkars deserve compliments for this efficiency especially Alexinho de Morjim who I was given to understand was the brain behind this Tiatro.

The story revolves around Ophelia de Arambol who played the magnificent role of an upright Dpty. Collector and as her beloved father the role played by Cyril was equally magnificent.  The role of a Marathi servant by Lorna was of high grade. The high grade Kid Boxerian type of comedy, very witty, played by Alexinho de Morjim entertained the house full crowd beautifully.

In the Side  Show songs,  almost every singer rendered his/her song well including the two tiny boys Frenwyn  & Jone, Opening solo by Peter de Arambol, a duo by Lobo brothers – Hendry & Richard and Duet by  shining singing star Bushan and her husband Lajja.
