DEFECTIONS & GOAN POLITICS

DEFECTIONS!!! CLOSE THE LOOP HOLES

In recent Political circles of Goa, Media speaks of Government being
unstable due to some MLA’s are due to plot against present Govt. in
connivance with opposition and other small parties. That means, a
political Circus is due to strike at any days now. No one knows when such
news will surprise us in one of our Mornings. They did it in the past and
they might do it again for sure as the Politicians/MLA’s are so greedy and
shameless that they can trample the very principles they preach thus
setting an very ugly example to would be next generation Politicians, and
we, who chose a government with mandate have no option but just watch
helplessly. Or can we put such Clowns in the right place? Next 5 years
they will make us watch their monkey play which even real monkeys might be
ashamed of their freak-born cousin MLAs. Cant a People’s Power put them in a
right place?

To sort out such vicious problems, there should be a legislation with
immediate effect like:

1) No MLA/MP of any Party is allowed to change their sides. They
should instead resign if they do not agree with Party dealings after the
elections.

2) MLAs/MPs wanting to resign should pay heavy fines equivalent to
total cost of By-election to the State treasury. Plus penalty for wasting
the Peoples valuable time and causing tension and trauma to the people
during the election time.

3) MLAs/MPs if resigned, cannot contest for next Election till 6 years
period is passed by.

If such legislations are brought no MLA/MP will even think to play the
monkey games they are presently playing. Present defection rules are full
of loopholes and are very ineffective on them.

But who will bring such legislation? The MLAs and MPs themselves are the
ones who are introducing and also passing such legislations in the
Legislative Assemblies and Parliament. Since Legislative Assemblies and
Parliament are full of very rogues who take the People of the country for a
very long and jolly ride with shackles in their hands, they will never bring
such regulations which are directly affecting them, it should be then left
to Supreme Court to make it a law.

We, the people of this country, must ourselves change this dirty politics and
bankrupt policies introduced by the Law Makers. Therefore, there must be a
Watch Dog Body to trim and tame these vicious stupid MLAs and MPs, who by
their criminal acts put the entire people of the Country not only in a very
big loss but also in chaos.

God help us.

Elvino Rodrigues,
Kuwait.
