The chief guest of the day was Mr. Mickey Pacheco who was the main sponsor of the show. Gone were the days when Kuwaitkars used to sponsor and finance Tiatros and events in Goa. But now opposite is taking place. Gone were the days when Kuwaitkars used to sponsor the trips of Goan visiting guests but now the visitor guests themselves are sponsoring their visits. Not only their visits but also of their accompanied colleagues and family members. All these happen because excess money is flowing into the hands of our Goan politicians for this reason they are visiting the Gulf countries spending lakhs of rupees every now and then.
When Eduardo Faleiro came to Kuwait for the first time about 30 years back, we the Kuwaitkars financed his stay in Kuwait including the hosting of a dinner at Kuwait Sheraton.
When we Kuwaitkars brought Churchill Alemao to Kuwait about 22 years back, every expense of his was borne by us.
Mickey Pacheco since his Rattol incident and Dogui Bodmas VCD incident rightly or wrongly has created lot of ill will into the minds of the Kuwait Goans.
But yesterday during his 10 minutes speech he from the stage during the interval, created good impact of himself.
In his speech he fired Goan politicians inducting their family members into politics for looting Goa. He further said to do public service one need not involve himself in politics only. In his speech he also described his poverty stricken family background having no proper slippers and working as a ‘Dorzi’.
He made an open statement that he will contest from Nuvem in the next election and requested the people to support the local parties and not national parties like both Congreses and BJP.
